We wear a poppy on the 25th of April (ANZAC day), to remember the people who fought and died in the war for their country. The poppy is red with a green stem, the poppy grows in the old battle fields of Gallipoli. Poppies have 7-8 petals and can be any colour, but we celebrate the red poppy. That is why we wear a poppy.
