Save the Monarch Butterflies!

Mrs Goodwin came into our class and talked to us about the Monarch Butterflies in our school garden. They are dying and aren't able to make their chrysalis' because it is too cold outside. We brought them inside to keep them away from the cold. There are lots and lots of caterpillars and they are going everywhere.
We found some jars to recycle and put the swan plants in them. After saving the caterpillars we wrote down what we already knew about caterpillars and what we want to find out. We have lots of questions about them.

  1. Our caterpillars are so cute! I can not wait to see the butterfly's hatching. It is so nice of Mrs Goodwin to do this with us.

  2. I hope no more are going to die! If they get through this winter that would be so cool.

  3. I hope none of them hatch in the weekends otherwise they might not have any food in room 12 and die. I love coming to school and looking at them!!!!

  8. Me and Gemma cleaned up all of the caterpillar poop in room 12. We used napkins and water to do this. First we put water on the table then we put napkins on the table and cleaned up the poop. The we placed some more napkins on the table around them so that now when they poop it will hopefully land on the napkins and make it easier for us to clean up! We both got ten table points for this!!! GOOOOOO LITTLE PONIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
